Your best partner for filtration technology and scientific equipment

From our founding as Japan’s first filter paper manufacturer in 1917 to today, we in the ADVANTEC Group have continued our steady, step-by-step progress.

Toyo Roshi Kaisha, Ltd., our core company, is embarking on the next phase of its history with the celebration in July 2017 of the 100th anniversary of its founding.

In Japan, filter paper used for chemical analysis was procured from Germany prior to the founding of our company, but imports were interrupted in World War I. As a result, research on filter paper manufacturing methods was carried out at a state-operated industrial research institute, and in 1917 Toyo Roshi Shokai (today’s Toyo Roshi) began manufacturing quantitative filter paper on a par with imported products, a feat previously impossible in Japan.

Through World War II, the period of high economic growth, two oil shocks, the bursting of the bubble economy, the period of low growth and difficult challenges like the Great East Japan Earthquake and the accompanying nuclear disaster in March 2011, the ADVANTEC Group has worked to expand its business, by developing new products, improving manufacturing methods, restructuring sales methods, reviewing lines of business, and reexamining our corporate organization.

The ADVANTEC Group is made up of seven companies: Toyo Roshi Kaisha, Ltd. has built up a solid position as a filter paper manufacturer. Toyo Seisakusho Kaisha, Ltd. is a scientific equipment manufacturer. ADVANTEC Toyo Kaisha, Ltd. and Naruse Riko Kaisha, Ltd. are in charge of sales in Japan. ADVANTEC MFS, Inc.is our US subsidiary and overseas sales base. ADVANTEC Nissei Kaisha, Ltd. is the group’s engineering department. And Kanto Kobunshi Kaisha, Ltd. handles some of the manufacturing and development of group products. Working together as a tight-knit team, these companies have built an integrated system covering development, manufacturing, sales, service, and facility construction for filter paper and scientific equipment, and strengthened our group structure as a general manufacturer of filter paper and scientific equipment.

Our aspiration is to continue moving forward as our customers’ best partner for filtration technology and scientific equipment—constantly alert to the needs of the times, pursuing advanced technology, and contributing to our customers’ future with one-stop service for everything from laboratories to processes.
